Experienced Online Phonics Tutor and KS1 Reading Specialist
As a qualified teacher and online phonics tutor with over 24 years of experience, I support young readers through fun, confidence-building phonics lessons.
Parents often look for a reading tutor or literacy tutor when their child needs more confidence, a clearer approach or gentle guidance with phonics skills.
My small-group sessions give children the personalised support they would receive from a KS1 tutor, with the fun and encouragement that makes learning stick.

My online phonics groups are open!
A phonics check and trial session helps secure your child’s place in the group that best matches their level, confidence and personality, so they feel supported from the very first lesson.
Now is a great time to begin if your child needs extra help with phonics or reading. The trial session gives us a clear picture of what they need and which group will help them learn, grow and thrive.
📅 Groups run throughout the school year, and spaces are limited.
📩 Book now and help your child build confidence in phonics, reading and writing.

Parent FAQs
Who are the lessons for?
Children aged 4–7 (Reception, Year 1 and Year 2) who need support or a confidence boost in phonics and reading. Online lessons are held after school and are perfect for children living in the UK.
What happens in the phonics trial?
Your child completes a fun phonics check and short mini-lesson. This helps me understand their strengths and needs so I can place them in the group where they will feel confident and supported.
If your child is a good match for one of my current groups, their second trial session will be with that group so they can experience a real lesson.
Do I need to prepare anything?
Just a quiet space, a laptop or tablet with Zoom and their magnetic board if they have one. Everything else is guided and child-friendly.
How will lessons work after the trial?
If your child is a good match for an existing group, they will join that Phonics Pals group straight away.
If there is not an immediate match, we will choose a suitable time and your child will join a group as soon as another child enrols who is a good fit. I always pair children carefully so they learn confidently alongside others at a similar level.
How soon will my child start?
Most children begin the following week, depending on group spaces and availability.
🪄Imagination + 🚀Confidence = 📚Reading Success
⭐Optional One-to-One Support
Please note: I have only a small number of optional one-to-one slots for group students who need extra support.
If your child would benefit from this, I usually recommend one small-group session plus one additional 1:1 lesson each week or fortnightly.
This gives your child the structure, confidence and personalised attention they need to make steady progress.
